PROVOST of Saint-Pie
Re Magdeleine May Denonville I've also seen Denonville sometimes spelled Desnonville, and Magdeleine as Madeleine. You may have Desire listed as Jean-Baptiste. For some reason, he was called Desire as and adult and all of his records are under that name. Desire is not one of the names on his baptismal record, so it is a bit confusing. In the 1861 Quebec census, he is Jean-Baptiste. The census lists Ambroise, age 57 and his children:
Marie Magdeleine,age 26
Misael, 20
Armenie, 16
Louis, 14
Charles, 12
Jean-Baptiste, 10
Elmire, 8
Antoine, 31
Looking for PROVOST of Saint-Pie de Bagot, Quebec
I have been looking for information on my great-grandmother, Val?rie Provost Catudal, and her family. She died when my grandfather was four, so not much was known to us about her. I have found names and dates for her parents, D?sir? Provost and Marceline Monast and their other children, Wilfred, Auguste, Exav?rine and D?sir?, and have posted that information on my blog http://provostsofsaintpie.blogspot.com/. I also have names and dates for D?sir? and Marceline's parents.
Recently, I discovered that D?sir? and Marceline were married in Chicopee, Massachusetts and they lived in Fall River, MA from about 1878-1883. D?sir? died in Lincoln, Rhode Island in 1886. Val?rie Provost and Charles Catudal moved from Saint-Pie to North Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1906, and the Catudal family remained there after her death in 1910.
I hope to find living relatives or friends of this Provost family in Canada and the U.S. who have saved photos, newspaper clippings/obituaries or who remember stories passed down from previous generations.
