joseph o'brien, huntly mining disaster

have found some more info on Joseph O'Brien. I think he died in Auckland in 1961. His date of birth would be around 1885 but I cant find a record of this, its possible he was born in Australia, family tales mention the ballarat gold fields

He married Margaret McGill (from somewhere near Lyttleton/greymouth I think). Marriage date was 1910, and I think her full name was Margaret McKeen Mcgill. I think she died in 1975, age 82. Both she and Joseph are buried in Auckland.

They had several children, the names I recall are Jack (wharfies union, Auckland), Jean, married Tom Edwards, a daughter known as Tommie who married an American after the war and went to live in USA, my grandmother who I think was known as Cissie, she died of TB just after WW2, was married to Morris Madden.

The one child I would particularly like to make contact with is Clete (Cletus?. He was the youngest by a good few years. He married Audrey Holden of Howick. They had 3 sons, Kevin RIP, Gary and Shane. They lived in Auckland. I heard that Clete traced the family history back to Ireland but I have no way of getting in touch with him or his family.

If anyone out there knows of this family it would be a great help.

Also, I am living in West Cork in Ireland. If I can help anyone with local info from this area I would be pleased to help. I work as a community nurse/midwife and my clients are very good at knowing who is related to who around here
