Valentine Weaver, Sr.

Journal by ebt1986

Valentine Weaver, Sr. He was born in Palatinate, Pfalz, Germany. The only information I know is that he died December 1771 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. I'm looking for any information I can find on him. His wife's name was Barbara, do not know her last name. I also wanted to know what the correct spelling of his last name was at that time, was he the man that changed it from Weber to Weaver. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi ebt1986 - I am also researching this line. I realize you posted this in 2012, have you found more information?

I have this added info: Valentine Weber was born October 9, 1726 in Pfalz, Palatinate, Germany. He was christened on 18 Oct 1726 in Evangelische, Alsenz, Pfalz, Bavaria. He came to America on the ship "Dragon" in 1749 and was one of the founding settler families of the Dutch Buffalo Creek area in Mecklenburg County, NC. He did marry a Barbara and I don't have a last name for her or a marriage date for them. I come through their son, Heinrich "Henry" Weaver who was born around the time they came to America.

I'm still researching and I am going to Mecklenburg Co on Sept 27th to spend a day researching at the St. John's Lutheran Church who has many records on the Weber/Weaver family. If you are interested, I could share any info I find.
