Vance...Scotland to Ireland to USA

Journal by affinius

My line comes down thru Scotland then over to Ireland around 1610. then to america Around 1710. In Ireland John Vance had a son named Lancelot....his first name may have been Thomas. Lancelot's first wife gave hime three sons. His oldest, John, is my ancestor. Many American Vances are descended from his second marriage thru his son Patrick. I believe Abner is in this line. John had a son named Andrew....and he had a son named John..and John had a son named Alexander....and his son was John born 1746....so my line goes...Pennsylvania and West Virginia area early 1700s....JEV.

So is Abner supposedly a son of Patrick, or a brother of Patrick? It seems that no-one has been able to find parents or grandparents for Abner Vance. Do you have information to back this up?
