W.W. Myrick married in Brooks county GA

Query by Nikki8118

Looking for our missing family member W.W. Myrick born in the late 1800s possibly from Ga. What we know is he came to N. Florida to work on the hwy 90 project as a laborer in the 1920s. He is my great grand father. During this time he met my great grand mother Beatrice Johnson 1909 and she ran away to Brooks county Ga to marry W.W. Myrick marriage cert Aug 20 1923. He was much older then her probably late 30s early 40s and she was 15. All he signed was W.W. Mryick. Shortly there after her older brothers went to get her and ran him off. She was expecting my Grandfather at the time and he was born july 1924 in Live Oak Fl where her family the Johnson's resided. He was born named Charles Fred and didnt have a birth cert but latter took the last name Bryan when she remarried. I cant find any record of divorce papers for W.W. Mryick and Beatrice. He was never heard from again as far as we know. Word is he might be from Ga he had Black hair, olive skin, and said he was Indian. That of course is what my grand father Charles would say. He didnt know much about him. If anyone could help us find anything about him we would much appreciate it. Any family that would remember a relative working in N florida on the Hwy and married in Brooks county. Thank you Nikki [email protected]
