Nobody knows a place of origin for the name OCAME. The first Ocame's showed up in the New Haven, Connetictut.
They are said to be decendants of Anthony 'OCAME' born in France in 1762 lived in New Haven and died in Milford, Connecticut on the 8 April 1842 and the father of Frances Ocame 1800-1883.
Some say Anthony was a french soldier. Nevertheless the name is a corruption of some other. Perhaps COMEAU/CAMEAU in Nova Scotia. There are several in the Quebec Vital records.
The apostrophe was not added to OCAME till the nineteenth century.
There are no CAME or O'CAME in Ireland in the 18th century, although O'Quin has been put forward as a root.
Where there are OCAME's in Britain it is often a corruption of the name OAKHAM.

Your Ephraim OCAME 1805-1863 is said by some to be the son of Eugene Paul CAMEAU and Marguerite BONO whether this is true or not I don't know but seems to be a popular opinion. I have found no document to support this claim.

Ephraim married Lydia GRIFFING 1813-1878 the daughter of Jasper GRIFFING 1782-1830 and Phoebe TURNER 1794-1863.
Ephraim and Lydia had 5 children;

W Nickolas Ocame 1831 ? 1899 m
Phoebe Ocame 1837 ? 1917
Almeda Ocame 1843 ? 1904
*Margaret A Ocame 1845 ? 1902 m William Perry HOWLAND 1836-1911
Mary Elizabeth Ocame 1851 ? 1932

[After Ephraim died in 1863 Lydia in 1865 married Robert PETERSon 1802-1882.
The families of Nicole and Pierre Boucicaut CAMEAU born about 1830 claim Ephraim OCAME 1805-1863 to be their father from a marriage before he married Lydia Griffing. This is not my research ]
