why is it that i can find my great grandfather's name on a plack in the alamo stating he was the cheif of the cherokee tribe that defend the alamo but i can not find anything about him on the internet? his name was cheif joseph kymes.

cheif joseph kymes is my great grandfather and has been recorded in texas history book as well in the national books but yet i can not find him on the internet or any useful information on him.

Why don't you post what you know in Wikipedia. You may attract people like you who google his name and have at least some family lineage, and notice about the plack.

Did he go by Chief Joseph??? I love American History and I've probably run across the name or a photo of him.

I thought the Alamo was between Texans and Mexicans and not aware there were any indians present but then my knowledge of American history comes from John Wayne.
This is the only Chief Joseph I have ever heard of
