Dear Boru, Welcome to FamilyTreeCircles. Perhaps you might consider hiring a professional genealogist to do a little research to help you in the right direction? See OurScots

And another one of my favourite sites - Rootschat is inordinately helpful. Register as a new user, free site, then post lookup requests on pertinent childboards.

hello allycat... I don't belive a professional genealogist would be worth the expense because I have an extensive family tree, the individuals I post about on here are ones that I have researched every record, document, anestry board etc and have run into a brick wall, no further information appears to be available .... My hope in posting on this forum is that some distant relative with information will see my journals and exchange information with me ...

I see. I always say that someone, somewhere out there always knows the information you seek.

My own family tree GEDCOM file is rather extensive also as I've been researching 20+ years. I've found it helpful to have an online tree at Geni, it's amazing that one finds those 5th etc. cousins who have the elusive information that you're after.

If you really wish to use the internet to your advantage, especially here at FamilyTreeCircles, alter the subject headings of your journals to say 'Looking for GRANDON family of ...town...city...state...territory...country' and maybe have an approximate year. So many of my own journals have been found by distant relatives just using Google by keyname searching a surname and maybe a town.

I'll try and create surname wikis (am a busy Mum) for the information you're seeking. How they work is magically once there's a surname wiki page and then journals are written about the particular surname, Google puts FamilyTreeCircles website and all 'your' journals on the first page of the search results. For example if you Google GRANDON genealogy, you will see 25,000 search results. However, once I create a GRANDON surname wiki page, you might find your journal links appear on page 1. Hope you get my drift.

Thank you allycat ... I tend to come here only when I have the time and I have always planned to but my tree online but have been busy... My wife just gave birth to our first son, and with working and helping with the baby I only have a few minutes here and there to do research ... I will alter my journal headings as you have suggested ...

Take care ... Boru ...

Daniel Moore's Wife was Julia Ann Hansler, Her parents were George Hansler (name was originally Hansel) and Rosina Slough. Rosina Slough's parents were George Slough (originally Schlauch)and Maria Catherina Gieg. A Gieg ancestor by the name of Bob Keith has spent many years researching family history and has gone back to Germany to do research on the Gieg Family. He has a book and a website which can be found here:

I have had conflicting info on DANIEL ,,,his birth year is listed as early as 1744 and as late as 1757 ... I have also found evidence that he had another wife named EVE ( surname unknown)... It is EVE that am trying to find information about , anything including her surname and parents names ...
