William E. Blake/Yellowhawk

Journal by gerimarie

William E. Blake was also known as Yellowhawk. He lived in New Rochelle, New York. His wife's name was Carol A., they had 3 chrilden, Carol, William and I think Dorris. William was an actor and Carol ran a boarding house. My grandmother, Elsie Susan Wixson (her parents were Charles Bently Wixson and Susan Wixson)had a baby (my Dad) by William E. Blake/Yellowhawk and his name is Kenneth Charles Wixson, he was born on December 24th, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan. William E. Blake was born somewhere in Canada around 1883. I have photos of William E. Blake in full Indian regalia and a letter he wrote to his tribal counsel. I am not sure if he was Native American (he looks American Indian) or if he was just acting. I was told by my grandmother that Yellowhawk (aka William E. Blake) had a white tipi that he had set up somewhere in the Catskills of New York. If you contact me at my e-mail address, littlefawn713@charter.net , I can send you via e-mail a copy of a photo of my grandfather and his letter.
