I have hit a brick wall researching my Lowther ancestors. My great-grandmother was Ida Mae Lowther, daughter of Henry J Lowther, son of William H Lowther, son (I think) of Henry Lowther. I know that William H Lowther was born in New York on 23 Nov 1802. His probable father is Henry Lowther, whose birth date I believe is 1 Aug 1766 in Glendermot, Londonderry Ireland. All I have for his wife is her first name, Elizabeth.

If there is anyone out there working on Lowthers that went from Ireland to New York pre-Revolutionary War or during it, I would love some assistance. My branch of the Lowthers started out in New York to Rock Island/Moline Illinois to Kirksville, MO where my ggm grew up.
