William (possibly Willm) Pitman born about 1670 in Somerset, died 1719

Query by stevepitman

The farthest back I can trace my Pitman ancestors in Somerset is William Pitman, possbily spelt Willm.

He was born about 1670 in Somerset, possibly in the village of Lyng.

He died in 1719 or 1720 and was buried in Lyng.

William Pitman married Joan Coles, who herself was born about 1672.

They had 2 sons - Thomas and John.

I can't find any earlier information on who William's parents were, or where William himself was born. If anyone else has research around this time that might help, please get in touch.

Thanks!
