YEO or COVENEY in New Zealand

Journal by CarolAnne7

I am researching my husband's family tree based around the YEO family, and the COVENEY family. The Yeo's came to NZ from Devonshire about 1872 when John Yeo (or Yaw) emigrated to Southland with his first wife Mary. He later married Alice Jane BULL and had three children: John Sydney, Alice Selina and Arthur Joseph. Arthur later moved to the Hawkes Bay region. The first of the Coveneys to arrive here was James Edwin Coveney about 1877. He married Elizabeth Jane BUTLER from Wexford, Ireland in 1880. Their children were: Mary Jane, Amy, Bertha, Jemima, George Frederick (died as a baby) and James Alfred.
