Dulcie Carter Lismore NSW Australia
I'm searching for information on my grandmother Dulcie Carter who was born in Lismore NSW Australia and Married John Mulligan. They had 12 children. My fathers name is Raymond Edward Mulligan and my mothers name is Carol Smith (maiden name). My grandmother had a twin sister Dorothy and there was 18 children in their family. My grandmother was also Aboriginal. I know that my father was born in Norwa NSW and my mother in Parramatta NSW and they married in 1975. I have a brother from this marriage Shane Mulligan and a half brother Adam Shelton from my mothers second marriage. I'm trying to find out more about my Aboriginal Heritage.
Thank you
Jared Raymond Mulligan
Born: 13/5/1980 at Penrith.

Hi Guys
I am as well doing research on the carter family, specifically Janie maria carter who is my great/great grandmother.
She had as far as I can work out 18 children to different fathers. She was an itinerant worker in the northern rivers area, working in hotels and camps as a cook. She lived with my grandmother and great grandmother for a while. Most of her children were taken away from her at a young age by the State. She was a very hard woman.
I am not sure about the aboriginal link and would be interested to know more about this. She married Frank Stevens very late in life, Frank was not a father to any of her children.
Please get in touch to let me know what information you have and I can share what I have
How intersting. I am also searching for family of Jane Maria Carter.
My mother is Dulcie Mulligans sister, Lillian Jane Carter.
She is one of the six children taken from her mother.
She remembers, Dulcie, Dorothy, Grace, Florence and a brother Freddie all sent to Sydney and lived together near Balmain for many years with a woman they called Nanna Dummit. Lillian also spent time in a children’s home called Montrose. Mum is now 93 and in ill health and I would like to give her a bit of closure regarding her Mum.
Hi lorrie can u add me on facebook Haylie Hillman my grandmother is dulcie carters daughter june
Hi Guys
Can you share with me your stories please regarding Janie. She was a rouseabout/camp cook who lived in Nth NSW. There is no aboriginal heritage in her line as my grandmother know her and lived with her for many years and had contact with her until she died.

Holly who’s your dad? Feel free to email me blscobie1 @ Gmail.com
My dad is Nigel Scobie.
Hi guys
To clear this mystery up two of Janie’s grandchildren are still alive and both lived with her and spent time with her before she died. Janie’s grandfather was James mcnellee an african American who travelled to Australia with a doctor and settled at budgong. Janie and her descendants were not aboriginal and I had my DNA done to confirm along with other carters and McNellie.... we all have between 1 and 3 percent Nigerian blood which ties the science and stories of those with a lived experience of Janie.... nil aboriginal blood for all the McNellies And Carter’s
Scott
You are right Scott. I'm Janies's grandaughter
