? The death is reported after a short illness of Lieutenant A. G. BRADDILEY, of the office of the Director of Recruiting. Lieutenant Braddily was a Main Body sodier of the 3rd (Auckland) Regiment, and saw service in Gallipoli and France. He returned owing to sickness some months ago

? News was received in Carterton on Monday morning of the death of Mr James BROWN, of Ashhurst. The late Mr Brown leaves a widow and two children, who are affected with influenza. The deceased was for sometime on the staff of the Taratahi and Belvedere Dairy Companies and was also manager at Carrington for a number of years, from where he transferred to Nirenha and Hanua, his last appointment being at Ashhurst

? The death from influenza on November 6 of Mr Leslie BROWN, youngest son of Mr P. Brown, formerly stevedore for the New Zealand Shipping Company at Wellington, of influenza, has been reported by cablegram from Sierra Leone, West Africa. Deceased, who was 23 years of age, was educated at Clyde Quay School, and after serving his apprenticeship with WIlliam Cable and Company Ltd., Kaiwarra, he joined the engineering branch of the Australian Navy. At the time of his death he was fourth engineer on the transport Bakara. He took a great interest in athletics and was a prominent member of the Brooklyn Harriers

? Mr W. BUCKLEY, of the Magistrate's Court staff, is among those suffering from the epidemic

? Mr John CAMERON, relieving manager for the A.M.P. Society in Nelson for the past few months, died suddenly on Thursday morning from heart failure. Mr Cameron leaves a widow and a family of two children at Sydney

? Mr J. K. CARPENTER, a prominent businss man in Dannevirke and well-known in Pahiatua, where he was at one time a member of the borough council, died at Hawera on Sunday from pneumonia, following an attack of influenza

? At Featherston yesterday Mr William CARRUTHERS, who is well-known in South Canterbury and elsewhere, succumbed to pneumonia. He leaves a widow and five young children

? Mr Albert C. EDWARDS, builder, died at his residence at Kihi Kihi on Sunday last. Deceased, who was educated at the Clyde Quay School, was the eldest son of the late Mr R. H. Edwards, of Wellingtn. He has legt a widow and two children; a sister (Mrs Ralph, of Kilbirnie) and two brothers (Mr Ernest Edwards (Ernest Edward 1888-1969), Wanganui and Mr Harold Edwards (Harold Edward 1894-?), on active service, who left New Zealand with the Ninth Reinforcement, early in1915)

? Mr Frank A. FENTON, a well-known chemist, who had been in business in Karangahape Road, Auckland, for several years, died at his residence, Grey Lynn, on Sunday from influenza. He was 47 years of age, and was born in the Auckland province

? Mr Frank GOLDBERG, managing director of the Goldberg Advertising Agency Ltd., who has been confined to his home with a severe attack of influenza, is now on the high road to recovery and hopes to return to business in the course of a day or two

? The death of Mr W. H. HARTGILL, manager of the Dannevirke branch of Barraud and Abraham, Ltd., and the well-known racing judge, is announced in a Press Association message from Dannevirke. Mr Hartgill was taken ill on his return from the Riccarton Cup Meeting and died yesterday afternoon. The late Mr Hartgill was born in England and came to New Zealand in 1885

? The funeral took place yeterday morning of the late Captain Arthur HOWELL, acting-master on the Commonwealth and Dominion steamer Port Alma, who died from pneumonia on Monday. The pallbearers were of the ship's company, Messrs. Perry and Miller reresented the head office staff and Mr A. Kitching Messrs Bannatyne and Co., the local agents. Other shipping companies were also represented. The late Captain Howell, who was a single man, about 30 years of age, leaves a mother and sister in South Wales

? A well-known Featherston businessman, in the person of Mr J. E. HUNTLEY, died on Monday at Featherston, following upon an attack from pneumonia. He was 43 years of age

? Mr Stephen A. JUDD, who was removed from his home at Vogeltown on Sunday to the Wellington College Hospital, died on Monday night, after being ill from influenza since the previous Tuesday. Deceased was born in Wellington 44 years ago and had lived in this district all his life. For some years past he had carried on a fancy goods business in Manners Street. He has left a widow and daughter

? The Rev Father KIMBELL, of Newtown, who has been laid up with influenza is reported to be much better

? An old and respected colonist, Mr MacDUFF, senior, of Waitoa Road, Hataitai, died at his residence on Sunday. The deceased, who was 75 years of age, arrived in Wellington in 1879, to take charge of the American Coach Factory, which was afterwards run under the names of Messrs Rouse and Hurrell. Shortly aferwards he removed to Wanganui, where he became proprietor of one of the largest coachbuilding busineses in New Zealand. He was very well known on the West Coast of this island. He leaves three sons and three daughters

? At Dannevirke, the funeral of Mr James RIGGIR, stock agent, took place on unday and on the same day his wife died, leaving two little children behind. Mr and Mrs Riggir died from influenza and the complications following

* Lena died 2 days later on 18th Nov
* their daughters were then aged 11 & 6. Not known who cared for them
* James & Lena are buried in Plot 37, Block S at Mangatera cemetery

? Included in Monday's deaths at Christchurch was that of Mr A. W. RUTHERFORD jun, aged 41. Deceased was a prominent North Canterbury sheep-breeder and a well-known racehorse owner. His father, a former member of Parliament, died from influenza a week ago

The death occurred from influenza yesterday morning of Mr Henry van STAVEREN, junior partner in the legal firm of Messrs Webb and van Staveren, and youngest son of the Rev H. van Staveren (Rabbi of Wellington). Mr van Staveren, who gave promise of being a very able legal practitioner, was born in Wellingtonand was educated at the Terrace School and afterwards at St Patrick's College an Victoria College. The deceased, who was esteemed in the profession, was only 28 years of age

? A well-known Palmerston citizen in the person of Mr Thomas G. STOCKWELL succumbed on Sunday to the effects of the prevailing epidemic. The late Mr Stockwell, who had practised in Palmerston as a dentist for several years, was at one time associated in partnership with his brother, Mr Frank Stockwell, now of Feilding

The late Mr Withell, who was in the employ of Messrs Barraud and Abraham Ltd., took a great interest in friendly society matters and was a past chief ranger of Court Manawatu A.O.F. He was also a member of the West End School Committee for some time. He leaves a widow and family of four children

? Quartermaster-Sergeant Benson H. WYMAN, who died of brocho-pneumonia at Featherston Camp on Friday, was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. H. Wyman, of Blockhouse Bay, Avondale South. Upon leaving the Auckland Grammar School, he entered the Justice Department and was first stationed at the Magistrate's Court at Auckland and successively at Queenstown and Wanganui. Later he commenced the practice of law in Auckland. He was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court in 1911, and graducated LL.M. in 1916. For some time he was assistant law lecturer at the Auckland University College. He entered camp early this year
