William Mitchell and Emily Worth from Ontario, Canada

Article by Josee

Hello,

My husband and I are looking for the descendants of William and Emily (nee Worth) Mitchell who emigrated to Ontario, Canada about 1850-1855. William was born in Brechin, Scotland in 1848 and Emily was born in England about 1855. They were married about 1876 in Port Elgin, Ontario and had 8 boys and 1 girl. My husband's great grandfather was Frederick Oswald Mitchell (son of William and Emily). We are looking for any information regarding the descendants of Frederick's siblings.

Thank you,
Josee & Sean Mitchell

Hi Josee, your husband's great grandfather Fred and my grandfather Jack Mitchell were brothers. What are your husband's grandfather and father's names?

I wonder if we've met, my father was John Fredrick Mitchell.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your response. We've been trying to find other descendants for a few years now. My husband's father is John Paul Mitchell and his grandfather was James Roy Mitchell who married Dorothy Ball. It is possible that you may have met my father-in-law. He remembers visiting his grandparents' (Frederick and his wife, Alma Gertrude Skinner) home in Toronto several times. Are you by any chance in Ontario?

We would love to keep in touch so feel free to connect with us by e-mail at: joandseany@rogers.com if you want to.

Hey hi, we are the descendants of Emily Worth and William Mitchell, from the John Worth Mitchell side. Fred was Jack's brother (Jack was what they called John Worth). Jack was fairly prominent in banking in Canada and England and so was Cleve (Cleveland) and Jack was the family provider for decades, bought his parents and siblings homes in Toronto. Happy to share records of what we have.
