Sorry cannot find anything else on Annie or Walter. Do not know why he called himself Walter Girling in 1895 and if he lied about his name he could also have lied about about having a sister Emma. I could not find his mother named Adeline either. If he enlisted in 1897 age 18 he was born c 1879 British Army WWI Pension Records lists him as born in 1873. Was he under age when he enlisted in the Yorks and Lancs reg. ? from 1899 -1911 he served in India. age on discharge 40 (birth 1879)

You need to get the marriage cert which should show Annie and Walter's fathers names /occupations
