He came from Gatton and was held on remand there, so perhaps he stayed in the town after he got out of gaol that would have been about 1915.
Look here's a couple of numbers, I'm not sure of the Gatton Historical Society number but this is the Gatton Historical Museum. (07) 5462 1580 or (07) 5462 2884 They may be able to put you onto something. At the time it was big news in Gatton they may know more.
He didn't use the name Murray throughout the trial and I can't find a George Murray Morris in Qld. Deaths during the 1920s. A few George Murray's.
He could have gone interstate- not far from NSW.

Hi Janilye
Thank you for answering my request. I have a death notice for George Murray from the Rockhampton Bulletin. I have found no George Murray death in Qld which would correspond to being him. I will get in touch with the Gatton museum to see if they can help in any way. I know there is a Morris family living on the Old ESK Rd outside Gatton. I have seen the name on the mail box. If only I had known about George Murray then. Perhaphs they may not want to know me though. I have quite a history on the family Morris/Scott/Lutwych etc. I have just found a burial in NSW
but it doesnt fit in. May be N.Z.
Will keep in touch Regards Joy
