I am trying to find information on Jacob Morter, born about 1750, died 1797 in Pennsylvania. He had two sons: David and Jacob. I would like to find proof of country of origin for Jacob and/or names of his parents and his wife's (Catherine) parents. It is rumored that Jacob was born in Alsace. Is that Alsace Twp, PA or Alsace, France?? I cannot find Jacob's name on any immigration records/ ship manifests. Any help, especially documentation would be appreciated! (I am a descendent of David Morter.)
