Researching whakapapa of Makere Te Hameme PUANAKI

Journal by CHIEF1998

I believe Makere Te Hameme PUANAKI had 3 children to Nepia HAKUENE whose names are Mereana, Wiremu and Raiha/Eliza.

The only son Wiremu NEPIA married Mereana Too/Toa RETI/RETIMANA from Waikare, Bay of Islands, Northland, North Island, New Zealand.

Makere PUANAKI and whanau headstones are in the urupa at Waikare School.

PUANAKI is recorded in 'family search.org' as Makere's father. A document I have states that Wiremu Puanaki was his name.

Kia ora whanau, yes... my nan is the only sibling still living from this whanau. She is Amelia HARRISON nee NEPIA aka Milly. I have been researching our whakapapa for years. Maybe I have met you? I went to Nanny Olives tangi and unveiling. I'm sorry I don't remember everyones names but I remember Aunty Venus and there were a few more sisters and an inlaw who was very nice Uncle Eru??? I also went to Papa Sonny's tangi and know Uncle Willy, Aunty Honey, Nanny Kahu and Aunty Ania? I hardly ever check this site, but my main email is raanddee@gmail.com.

I was offered our whakapapa many years ago, but none of my requests for it were ever answered. I appreciate fate as this journey has been most rewarding.

And for this reason, I am happy to share what I know.
