BRIDGEMAN, BRIDGMAN of North Carolina, Robeson and Columbus Counties, Lumberton and Tabor City (also found in Green Sea, South Carolina)

I don't know how much family oral history to even investigate as the stories are unsubstantiated. According to his death certificate, my grandfather was born Aug 3, 1879 in North Carolina, USA and died on Oct. 5, 1944 in North Carolina, NC. This information was provided by his eldest son and may not be correct as my Uncle Edgar and my dad, Lester, disagreed on somethings on this report. I know my grandparents lived in North Carolina, USA in 1900 based on the Census Records and birth of a daughter in 1902. I traced them through the Census Records and births of their children as they moved several times. By 1904 they lived in Florida possibly in the area of Ocala. In 1910 they lived in Apalachicola, Florida. By 1911 they were in Flomaton, Alabama. In 1917 they were in Mississippi. On 8 Feb 1922, my grandmother- Mamie Lewis/Louis died and was buried in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Her name on the headstone was Mamie Louis Bridgeman and the date of birth as 20 Oct 1879. The family fell apart going in different directions and placing the younger children including my dad in various homes or orphanages. Census records show my grandfather as remarried to Caroline Parnell in 1930 and living in Louisiana. My dad, his first wife and several of his brothers were living in the same neighborhood. By 1940, my dad (an auto mechanic) and grandfather (a watch maker/ jeweler) had moved to North Carolina. In 1943 my half-brother, Jimmy Lester Bridgeman was born and in 1949 my half-sister, Sylvia Lee Bridgeman was born ( both in South Carolina). Meanwhile, my dad served in the US Army during WWII (1941-1944). As my grandfather moved from state to state he used several aliases including Arthur Warren, Warren, Edgar, Edward, and Everett. On his death certificate, his father is identified as Noah Bridgeman and his mother as Francis Coleman both of North Carolina.
If you can provide any information that might help me add information to our tree, we will greatly appreciate it.
