Thomas Richardson Aldrich of Charleston,South Carolina

Greetings,

I am Tom Russe and am researching the Prince branch of my family. I am using Ancestry.com for a majority of research.

I wonder if you can help me.

I am confused about some children of Thomas Richardson and Caroline Roselia Prince.

The death certificate of Julia Caroline Aldrich Dukes says that her mother is Julia Caroline Prince rather than Caroline Roselia Prince, who is listed in the Aldrich family trees as the mother.. Julia is Caroline's sister.

The same is for William Connor Aldrich.

Can you help with an explanation? Any help is appreciated.

I am looking for details of the children of Archibald Campbell (the Surveyor) of Albany New York (USA).

Archibald (the Surveyor) was born about 1735,probably in New Jersey. The common thought is that he is the "Archibald", the eldest son of John Campbell who died in New Jersey around 1764. And that his mother was Margarit Campbell, the wife of John Campbell.

It is thought that the father John Campbell was one of the 40 families brought by Lauchlin Campbell to Argyle Patent, East New Jersey from the island of Isla.

Archibald Campbell (the Surveyor)owned property in Raritan, New Jersey before moving to Albany, New York (around 1766). He surveyed several tracks of land in New Jersey for Lauchlin Campbell. He also surveyed large tracts of land in the Adirondacks (New York) in 1772 along with other large tracks of land. In 1787 he was the deputy State Surveyor of the Sate of New York.

He fought in the French and Indian War and was a private in the New York Militia during the American Revolution. He was granted 1000 acres land patent for his service in the Revolution.

In 1768 he married Christina Starenberg of Schoharie Valley New York. Per his will he had daughters named Margaret, Hannah, Sarah, Caty and Elizabeth. The reading of his will is difficult but says he had six (although some say five) sons. John and Jacob are mentioned. Per the inheritance of the land patent, his heirs are John, Jacob, Thomas, William and Archibald. No sixth son is mentioned. If there were a sixth, he probably died before the inheritance and I refer to as "unknown".

I have been able to trace the descendants of Jacob and Thomas (whom I am related to). I have found John's daughters, nothing more; Margaret had no children; Archibald to Philadelphia (I have not done much more, but there probably is); Caty is presumed to be Catherine and if so, I have her husband and she had no children; and I have a little on Elizabeth, who married a Powell and had several children for which I know nothing.

The children for which I have absolutely nothing are William, Hannah and Sarah.

My first request is to find information on Archibald's children William, Hannah and Sarah.

My next request is to find additional information on the unknown decadents of the other children.

Any help would be appreciated.
