My name is Joel MacDonald. I was placed for adoption and was lucky enough to be adopted by a loving Air Force family. I did DNA to find out whom my biological father was. I had court records unsealed by a Federal Judge to find out my lineage. I found my biological mother and met her once before her passing. She would tell me nothing about my father, hence the DNA. I am a Corbitt by birth, and found out I had a half sister whom had my same father. My sister had passed, but I met her children. They were so shocked because of my mannerisms and how similar they were to their mother. My sister was 20 years older than me. Her son is older than me and he was a skeptic about the whole meeting. But once we met it looked like we were looking into a mirror at each other. Military and civic duty run in the family. I am researching the Corbitt line, name changed in spelling, but yet the relatives came from NC, SC, TN, GA, AL and Florida. Any connection with relatives would be great.
