Looking for parents of Joseph Henry Harrison Andrews of AL

My grandfather was Joseph Henry Harrison Andrews. I know his mother's name was Elizabeth but maiden name is unknown. I got this from 1870 census of Mobile, AL. I have no idea what Joseph's father's name was. Joseph was born in 1864 supposedly in AL, even though 2 of his sisters stated on 2 different census records, that they were born in La.

I feel that Joseph's father might have been in the Civil War and was killed, since the 1870 census states that Elizabeth (the mother) was head of household. Also, one of Joseph's sisters married in 1872 at age 14 and Elizabeth, the mother, stated that she was the only surviving parent.

Any help would be appreciated. Joseph's sisters were named Martha, Sarah and Emma. Martha married a Cambell 1st, then a Miles 2nd., Sarah married a Mobley, and Emma married a Sorenson.

Mathias Whitman and descendants

My Whitman's started out with name Wedingman, per Dutch Fork genealogy. But it was spelled "Whitman" when they came over on the ship Elizabeth, from Rotterdam in 1733. The name is spelled in many different ways,Wedingman, Wedaman, Whiteman, Whitman, but my family spells theirs WHITMAN.

Johannes (son of Mathias) and Barbara (?) Wedingman lived in Dutchman's Creek area of Union (Chester County) District.
Their children were Christopher, David, Peter, John and Christian.
Christopher spelled his name "Weedaman"; David, Peter and Christian spelled their names "Wedeman"; John spelled his "Wedaman".

Christopher also named a son Christopher who spelled name "Whitman". This son Christopher is the father of my ggg grandfather Samuel Whitman. Samuel married Polly LaGrone. Polly was the dau. of John Adam Whitman and Mary Magdalene Houseal.

Samuel Whitman and Polly LaGrone Whitman had a son, William Whitman that married Harriet Scarbrough. If anyone knows who Harriet's parents were, I sure would appreciate some help with this.

Lambert/Braxton family

I am researching the Lambert family who married into the Braxton family. Martha Lambert d/o John Lambert and ? Blackman. Martha Lambert was born 1844 in Florida, per her death cert. And her father John Lambert was b. in AL. Her mother ? Blackman was born in GA.

Martha Lambert married Benjamin Braxton.

If you have any info on John Lambert and ? Blackman, please let me know. I have been looking for several years for John Lambert's parents. Thank you. Della
