David and his wife Elizabeth and their four children - David born between 1845 and 1847, James Stewart born 1848, Margaret Watson born 1851 and Thomas born 1853 arrived in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia between 1853 and 1855. A son William Watson was born in Australia in 1855.
We have checked hundreds of shipping records but have been unable to find when they arrived in Australia.
David was born in Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1822 and Elizabeth in Lanarkshire in 1828.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Arthur was born in Fulham, Middlesex, England about 1846. He married Mary Anne Millington in 1876 in Leicester. Son Roland Arthur Cowdery Martin was born in 1876.
Have found his name spelled Martin/Martyn and Marton.
Mary Anne died in 1893 but we have been unable to find any definitive information regarding the death of Arthur.
It is possible he remarried.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Researching Samuel Gleghorn born 1781 -1785 Inveresk with Musselburgh, Midlothian to James Cleghorn and Betty Scot/Scott. Some other sites have him born in County Antrim, but as his mother and father (if they were James and Betty) were married and died in Inveresk so I think it unlikely that he was born in County Antrim.
Samuel married Mary Jamison in 1807 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Looking for William Preston and wife Jane Fry from County Longford, Ireland. Their children William, Thomas and Margaret emigrated to Victoria, Australia in 1850.
Arthur Martyn born Leicester, England in 1846 married Mary Anne Millington and had one son, Roland Arthur born 1876. Initially we were advised that both Arthur and Mary both died in Fulham, London in 1893, but recently have found that he may have re-married and died after 1893. Unable to find any information regarding their deaths.
Have been advised Arthur's father was William but have been unable to find any information.
Mary Anne's parents were Thomas Millington and Ann Ashton.
Born in County Clare, Ireland in 1847. Mother Mary McNamara, father Martin Hedican. We have been told that Mary/Maria went to Australia when she was 12 or 13 but have searched hundreds of shipping records with no success. Also told that her parents did not accompany her but this is only heresay.
Found a Martin Hedican had numerous marriages but unsure if the spelling is Hedican or Hedigan.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I have more information if that would be helpful.
Mary/Maria was born in County Clare in 1847; Ancestry has her father Martin age 18 and her mother Mary age 22. Mary emigrated to Australia at some time during 1859 - 1863 but there is no record of her parents going to Australia. She may have accompanied a family as a servant.
A lot of conflicting information on numerous websites that have a Martin Hedican/Hedigan marrying several times.
Would appreciate any information.
Have been researching Maria who was born in 1847 in County Clare; father Martin and Mother Mary/Margaret nee McNamara.
On Ancestry a small screen pops up saying she was born in 1837 not 1847. She married John Phillip Harper in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia in 1869.
Have been advised she went to Australia when she was 12 or 13 but have checked shipping records and cannot find the Hedican/Hedigan family anywhere.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
I am searching for the birth certificate of Andrew Harper presumably born in Antrim in 1810. Also the birth certificate of his wife Maria Gleghorn/Cleghorn who was born on December 11, 1814 in Templepatrick, Antrim.
Also the birth certificate of Andrew's father - Paul Harper. We believe but are not sure he was born in 1775.
