McMinn in Tasmania

George Washington McMinn, known also as Washington McMinn appears to have been admitted to practise law in Tasmania in 1824. He was married to Phoebe Gee.

Their daughter married William Henry Cooke, who was my late husbands g grandfather.

Does anyone have any further information about his origins.

Thomas Crump - convict in Tasmania

Does anyone have any information on Thomas Crump transported to Tasmania in 1842 on the "Candahar", he married Lydia Johnson. I have traced my late husbands family back to them, and would like to know his UK origins.

Lydia Johnson - convict Tasmania

Does anyone know anything about Lydia Johnson, transported to Tasmania in 1844 on the "Tasmania"?

I have traced my late husband's family back to Lydia Johnson and Thomas Crump "Candahar 1842".

I would like to know her UK origins.

Crump family in Tasmania

Sorry, hit the return key accidently before I finished the title and haven't had time to get back to it.

I am looking for parents of Walter John Crump who married Matilda Ann Smith in Hobart in 1881. There is also a John Walter Crump which confuses matters.

Walter John's daughter, Matilda Ann, married William Harold Cooke in Hobart Tas in 1899.

Cookes in Australia

I am researching my family tree and have recently started on my late husband's family and there is very little information to go on. My husband's grandfather was William Harold Cooke, supposedly born in Sydney in 1878.

He married Matilda Anne Crump in Hobart Tas. They lived in Sydney, and he died in Sydney in 1942.

Family members say his father was called William Henry Kingston Cooke. He was married to Catherine Matila ?.

Does anyone have any info. The family believes that they came from England.
