Descendants of John Kelly

John Kelly and his brother Phillip arrived in Canada in 1816. Family documents say that they were from Tipperary, Ireland.
John was born about 1795 and Phillip about 1790.

John married Sarah Berry in 1822 and had a family of nine children;
Mary Anne, Edmund, John, Phillip, Jane, Catherine, Rebecca, Richard and Robert. The family lived in the Turtle Creek area in Albert County, N.B. Later generations relocated to Stilesville, N.B., other provinces in Canada, as well as the United States

Looking for descendants of Catherine Amelia Groundwater and Robert Mcfarlane

Both Robert and Catherine were born in Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada. Their marriage was registered in 1870.

In the 1871 census for Moncton, N.B. Robert and Catherine are residing with James (55) and Caroline (47), others living in the house were, Isaac (20), Almira (17), Mary (14), Tracy (12), Bliss (8), Anne (6), Alberta (4) and James (10/12). It is most likely that these are Roberts parents and siblings.

They had 5 children before they relocated to the U.S., Edward H. (1871), Carrie (1873), George (1875), Ada (1877), and Hartley (1880).
One child, Lillian was born in New Haven, Connecticut.

Looking for descendants of Fred and Lowell Simpson

Fred C. Simpson and Lowell Minerva Groundwater were married in New Brunswick and later relocated to Connecticut possibly about 1896.

Their children were: Robert E.(1893), Sarah (1901), Walter C. (1903) and Fred.

In the 1900 census for New Haven it shows Fred(33)and Lowell(38) as being married 10 years. Their children Robert E. (7) and Frederick (5/12). Lowell is shown as having born three children but only two are living.

In the 1910 census, Frederick (43), Lowell (48), Robert E. (17), Sarah (9), and Walter (7). This time Lowell has born 5 children but only three are living.

In the 1920 census Frederick is married to Mary A.

Looking for descendats of Edward Groundwater & Sarah Wilbur

Edward Groundwater came to Canada from Scotland in 1831, he was born about 1807. Edward was a school teacher in the Westmorland and Albert Counties of New Brunswick.

Edward and Sarah raised a family of nine children, William Henderson, Mary Isabella, Catherine Amelia, Lowell Minerva, Henry Havelock, Hazen Edward, Sarah Ann, David Guilford and Emeline Louisa.

Their descendants are located all across Canada as well as many of parts of the United States, Texas, Connecticut, Maine, Florida, Kansas as well as California.

Searching for Charles Maxwell, brother to Thomas Maxwell

Both Charles and Thomas were born in Ireland, parents were John and Mary Anne. Thomas and his family came to Canada in 1907, his brother went to Manchester, England.

Thomas Maxwell of Enniskillen, Ireland

Thomas Maxwell married Elizabeth Humphries on Nov. 14, 1900, in the Clenish Church of Ireland. According to the marriage registration Johns' father was John, a labourer. Elizabeths' father was also John, he was listed as a coachman.

John Humphries was married to Margaret Wallace.

John Maxwell was married to Mary Anne ?, the family story is that John died when his children, Thomas and Charles were young. If so why would he be listed on Thomas' marriage registration as being a labourer?

Mary Anne remarried in July of 1884 to Terrance Cox, they had two children, Edward and Mary Anne.

Thomas was born 1877-1878, Elizabeth was born June 26, 1879, hey had three children born in Ireland, Gertrude Oct 1901-Feb 1902, Charles John - Feb 1903, and William Thomas June 1905 in Derrygiff, Ireland.
