Some of the Hodges in my family tree come from York,Yorkishire,England. My Great Great Grandfather was Joseph Hodges born abt 1843 in Leceister,Leicestershire (marred to Margaret born in Ireland abt 1857).
They lived in York when my Grandfather was born. I think I have traced Joseph Hodges back to Leicestershire.
I think his father was also called Joseph Hodges born abt 1816 married to Kezia born abt 1820. They had lots of Children - Samuel abt 1839, Henry 1841, Joseph 1843, John 1845, Thomas 1847, William 1848, Reuben 1850, Clara 1855, Ann 1858, Emma 1861. In 1871 census they live at 3 Bourns Lane, Leicester, (st Mary) Leicestershire. Joseph was a butcher.
I would like to hear from anyone who has any links to them.

Many of my Johnson's lived in YORK and farming areas close to YORK .

I have got back to BENJAMIN JOHNSON born abt 1811 in SCORBOROUGH VILLAGE married to SARAH JOHNSON (maiden name not known) born abt 1821 in SOUTH CAVE YORKSHIRE. In 1861 they lived at LUDHILL FARM, WARTER, YORKSHIRE. Some of their childrens names- Sarah, William, Margaret,Mary,George.
I would like to find out anything about Benjamins family brothers sister etc.
GEORGE JOHNSON born abt 1864 born in WARTER VILLAGE- married MARY JANE SWALES born abt 1869 MIDDLETON, YORKSHIRE. In 1901 they lived at the RAILWAY GATE HOUSE in HAISTHORPE near BRIDLINGTON and at that time had 2 sons HARRY JOHNSON born abt 1895 MIDDLETON ON THE WOLDS and WILLIAM JOHNSON born about 1890 MIDDLETON ON THE WOLDS.
I don't know what happened to George Johnson and his family after 1901 so I would be happy to hear from anyone with any connections to them. GEORGE JOHNSON would have been my great great uncle on my mothers and grandmothers side of the family.
