Young Cottrell was born in 1820 in King William county Virginia. He was killed in the civil war in 1862 as a private in the confederate army. He joined in Alabama.I am trying to find his parents and ther ancestors.The only children he had were with a female slave Alethea(Peleta). The children are Ella Cottrell Robinson,Monroe Cottrell,and Dick Cottrell.He had a sister Cinderella Cottrell that married Dr William Haigler 22 December 1869.
