Samuel D. and Margaret E (Mickey) Johnson are my Great Grandparents who seem to be very illusive. They helped form the R.L.D.S. Church in Mondamin , Iowa.
Samuel's parents are Mary (Stephens) born April 13,, 1815 in Rowan County , N.C. who married John Johnson about 1830. Samuel's siblings are as follows; Rachel born 4/9/ 1832, Ivay born 2/11/1834, Alexander born 1/8/1836, Roanah born, 11/10/1837, elizabeth born 2/ 20/1839, sarah E. born 10/10/1841 and Samuel was born 8/27/1847 . These names and dates have come from Research Journal of william and Margaret Brown Family history so I do not know how accurate they are.
Margaret was born in Ohio to Daniel Mickey (born 6/28/1824) and Elizabeth (Britton) Mickey. Daniel and Elizabeth were married 1/26/1848 in Sangamon Co. Ill. Danile later married Mary B. Anderson 5/21/1857 in Jefferson, Iowa. Margaret was born in 1848.
Samuel and Margaret had 3 children. Sarah E. (Johnson) Fitzsimmons, James W. Johnson (my Grandfather), and Mary Ella (Johnson) Yutesler.
Samuel was struck in the head by a bowling bowl in Wall Lake , Iowa and later died in a Omaha, Nebraska hospital in 1901.
Samuel, Margaret, Mary Ella , Issac Yutesler and Daniel Mickey (Margaret's Father) are all buried in Union Cemetery in Iowa.
James W. Johnson married Rosetta P. Stevens. Her father was Caswell Stevens and her mother was Mary Catherine (Rounds) Stevens.Their children were: Eleanor(Johnson) Davis, Mildred (Johnson) Callaway, Sadie (Johnson) Crocker, Thelma (Johnson) Morgan, Margaret (Johnson) Dryden, Joseph S. Johnson , Jason Johnson and a son David who died( 1905) at a very young age when they lived in Bonesteel , South Dakota. He is buried in Rosebud Cemetery. James and Rosetta are buried in Fremont, Nebraska as well as most of their family. Many more names are in this family as well as Indian descendents of unknown origin. More footprints will follow.
