Hi, my name is June, I am 66 and currently live in Port Augusta SA.....
My query is, I am looking for Nancy Baker, she would be in her 70s by now.
Her mother was Amy Rozella Maria Mary Trimmer. Amy gave birth to my father,
Leslie Norman Joseph Trimmer, on November 28th. 1913 in Glen Innes, NSW.
Leslie was adopted by his grandfather Frederick Charles Trimmer when he was
only 7 months of age....Amy married in 1920 and her surname was Kennedy. She had 3 sons if I remember.
Ted, Sam and Bill all were Kennedy's. I have her in 1925 on the Queensland Electoral Roll
as living at Oxley in Brisbane..... My father, Leslie Norman Joseph Trimmer joined the AIF ( ARMY)
Infantry..in 1942 in Toowoomba. he changed his surname to Treumer. Leslie did his ARMY training at Greenbank
in Brisbane and was then transferred to the Chermside Staging Camp. It was when the Chermside
Shopping Centre is now located. My mother was Ruth Donaldson of Chermside, she married my father in 1942
and he shipped out to New Guinea where he fought in Lae and at Milne Bay...After the war,he came back to Brisbane
where he and my mother bought a house in Hilltop Avenue at Chermside.
I was the eldest born in December 1946, then Robert in January 1948, then Desley in July 1949 then Kevin in 1952.
It was in 1952 that we all went by train down to Grafton in NSW to meet our grandmother, Amy and daughter Nancy.
Then Nancy came back with us on the train to Brisbane....I can recall my fathers 3 brothers, Ted, Sam and Bill
all coming out to the house in Hilltop Avenue at Chermside... I recall that Bill was living over in South Brisbane, he often brought his daughter, Helen, I think her name was.My father passed away in March 1977.
I did hear that Nancy was married and living near Fortitude Valley in the early 1960s....
I would love to hear from anyone who knew Nancy and her family, maybe a descendant ????
