Looking for information about Christopher Brown Rodwell

Christopher Brown Rodwell is the son of Christopher Rodwell and Mary Ann Brown of Swaffham, Norfolk, UK,
Christopher was born: c1812 in Malta, then in 1831 he attended Christ College, Cambridge, UK and received his B.A., in 1835.
He married and in the UK and they traveled to New South Wales and apparently his wife died on the voyage, I don't know her name or the name of the ship.

Christopher then arrived in Port Adelaide, South Australia on 12 June 1840 on the Dawset from Launceston, Tasmania and his name was the only one on the passenger list.
Christopher m: 26 June 1841 to Mary Ann Macgowan (my gg Aunt) and had three daughters, all born in South Australia, 1.Maryanne Ernestine, b: 6 Sep 1842, Kensington, 2.Susan Lois, b: 7 Jan 1844, Rock Springs, 3.Helen, b:23 Sep 1845, Rock Springs.

Christopher then pops his head up in Terling, Essex, UK as a Deacon in 1846, then his wife has daughter no; 4. Lucy Lois, b: 1848 & son Christopher, b: 1850.
They then turn up in Freshford, Somerset and I think the Freshford web site (http://www.freshford.com/rodwell.htm) have gone a little off track. In 1856 Christopher is in Freshford with a new wife; Mary Ann Davis and eight daughters, and their youngest, Percival Davis, baptised: 1865.
The site goes on to say that Christopher's wife was born in Liverpool and their first two daughters being born in South Australia.
I'm assuming his first wife died on board before they reached Australia and the Mary Ann Davis that the Freshford web site talks about is actually my gg Aunt; Mary Ann Macgowan, because she was born in Lancashire prior to emigrating to Australia. or did she die on the trip back to England? Christopher Brown Rodwell went on to d:1888, Horsted Keynes, Sussex.

I would like to converse with someone to help fill in the blanks.
