Harold Ray Martin Ancestors

My father Harold Ray Martin was was born 3/31/24 (Peoria, Ill) the son of Arthur R & Stella Blakley Martin. His grandmother was Mrs. Effie Eggers, Hampshire, Ill, and had a twin brother Gerald J. Martin. He was found dead of a gunshot wound in the head 9/6/64 (Metamora, Ill).
I've traced the Martin family back & ran conflicting information on the offspring of Captain Christopher John Martin born in 1560, in Billerica, Essex,England. This is especially true of a son John Martin, b. 1598 Braintree, Essex, England. D. 02 May 1694 Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey. Spouse: Suzan Hemertin. I've added a query giving details of this conflicting information. Basically I see 3 possible mothers, plus references that he actually died in 1607. I'd appreciate help in resolving the conflicts.
