Doran x Dundee

I have a Gilbert Ross Doran b 1887 in St Andrews, Dundee and died about 1968. His occupations were Shifter in a Jute Mill, and Boil maker.

He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Ritchie, (x Rosehearty) and they had 3 children, Gilbert, May & "Living" daughter.

My mother recalls Gilbert as being a very friendly man, always smiling, and he played games and races at the family picnics in Rosehearty.

Son, Gilbert, emigrated to the USA in about 1950, and died in Detroit, 1997.

May, married and went to New Zealand, died in 1965.

Any one got connections to the above ?

RITCHIE FAMILY from Rosehearty, Aberdeenshire.

Hi all

Has anyone got any of the following names in their family tree.

My gt grandfather was Joseph Ritchie 1860 - 1930, he married 1st a Mary Ann Mitchell 1860-1904, then Annie Watt 1873-1957. Annie was from Gamrie.

Jospeh & Mary Ann had 7 children: Alexander, Jane (my grandmother), Christian, Jessie, William, Elizabeth & Lewis. Joseph & Annie had 1 daughter, Annie Taylor Ritchie.

Joseph was the owner of the local fishing boat "Marconi", but after a fire on board, he lost his nerve for fishing, and did not return to the sea. His 2nd wife ran a fish smoking business, and Joseph sold the fish for her.

Joseph's parents were John Ritchie 1821-1902 & Ann Taylor 1824-1896.

Any of these names sound familiar, please get in touch with me.
