I live in Queensland, Australia and have been researching my family history since late 2007.

My CROZIER Family started life in Australia when great great grand parent?s Samuel and his wife Mary arrived at Port Jackson, New South Wales, Australia on 29th June 1850.

Samuel married Mary JACKSON in the Trinity 2nd Presbyterian Church of Bailieborough, County Cavan, Ireland on 21st November 1849. They departed from Plymouth, Devon, UK on 7th 1850 on board the ?Maria? and were 114 days at sea before seeing Port Jackson.

Samuel was born about 1824 to Thomas (a farm labourer) & Margaret and it has been assumed that he was born in Drumacarrow, near Bailieborough as he gave ?Drumacarra? as his ?native place? when he arrived. He could neither read nor write and both his parents were deceased at the time of his marriage.
Mary who was born about 1829 to John (a Bailiff) & Jane, could read but not write and gave her ?native place? as ?Drutamer?, supposedly Drutamy, to the south-west of Bailieborough. Both her parents were alive when she left Ireland.

At the time of their marriage, Samuel was a resident in the Townland of Cornasaus, in either Kildrumsherdan or Enniskeen/Kingscourt Parish, County Cavan, while Mary was a resident in the Townland of Carrick-Gorman (Carrygorman), Killinkere Parish, County Cavan.
Their marriage was conducted by Rev. William Bell in the presence of John Jackson & William Love.

On arrival, Samuel & Mary established themselves in the Redfern district of Sydney, NSW and started their family with the birth of Jane in 1852. Jane died around Christmas in 1852, she was only six month old. The following year Samuel & Mary made their way to the gold fields of Victoria where the ?rushes? had already been in progress since July 1851.
Their other children, 4 girls & 4 boys were all born on and survived the hardship of the fields.
Margaret, John, Samuel Joseph, Mary Jane, Anne, Thomas, James & Isabella.

Would anyone having any knowledge of CROZIER/JACKSON ancestors that could be related to Samuel & Mary please contact me.
The children?s names are included as I suspect that they closely follow the old Scots-Irish tradition and appear to be ?family? names.
