Brick Wall: I am trying to find 2 things: 1) burial location for Joseph A. (Amos- possibly) Hathaway and 2) if his parents are indeed William Hathaway and Sara Alligood. I would be very appreciative of any information. Joseph was from NC.
Joseph A. (possibly Amos) Hathaway born / died Shown in Census 1880 Averyboro, Harnett County, NC with wife and first son Christopher
Married (27 Feb 1972 Pitt County, NC) to Delany (she used various names - Williams, Porter, Pertier, etc. - remarried to a Ballance) born / died
Possible Parents
William H. Hathaway (Hataway) born app 1820 Green County, NC? / died before 1860 Pitt County, NC (in 1850 census Wayne County, NC)
Sara Jenkins (later possibly Alligood)
It took me 35 years to find out that J. A. Hathaway was Joseph A. (Amos) Hathaway.
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. I failed to find the information for my grandfather in time. I do not want to do the same for my mother. Thank you in advance.
Brick Wall: I am trying to prove where William Collins was born and died. It would also help with the information of Anna Head. And the birth location for Zachariah Collins. Any information or leads would be appreciated.
Collins, William born Virginia 1750 (I have been researching Charlotte, Va; Rappahannock, Va., and Spotsylvania, Va.) Died 14 October 1783 (or after - I have researched Lanes Creek, Union County, NC and Warrenton, NC as I have been told both for where he died.)
He married Anna Head born 1753 and died 1837 (I have explored both locations for her death also.)
Their children were:
Zachariah Collins (my ancestor) born 1 Jan 1776 (supposedly Warrenton, NC) died 1855 Union County, North Carolina
Elisha Collins
George Collins
Thomas Collins
I know there was a William Collins in Warrenton, NC based on Colonial tax records.
Zachariah Collins ended up living in Lanes Creek Township, Union County, NC.
