Whakapapa Book and Hapeta/Herbert Reunion.

Kia Ora Koutou.

For nearly two years now, our whanau have been preparing for our Reunion that will be held this year in December for 5 days at Rakaunui Marae, Kawhia.
In the mean time, as part of the Whakapapa Book which has been in the making since the first hui, is being compiled and will soon be ready for printing.
This whakapapa book deals with our Great Grandparents, Ngamiri Paretekawa Arunui and Tawhi Erueti - to the present.
It was decided, that because there were other books which dealt with the past (i.e... Whareangaanga Te Kanawa Reunion, The Turner Reunion...ect...), we wanted a book that would have as many whanau's names to this present day, as being the first Herbert Book of this generation, which would start for future Reunions after we're all gone, and this book would be used as the beginning for other books to be done.
I am proud of my whanau, proud of my late mother whoes wairua has lead me to being part of the pukapuka komiti o te Herberts/Hapeta, and certainly proud of all members of my whanau, immediate and extended, who have passed their knowledge to us in order to make this book come to pass.
I would like to thank my Niece, Kitty, who has always been there for me, for my cousin Ngamiri/Millie whom has shared to much knowledge concerning the "Old Ones" as she calls them.
I would like to thank the committee for showing and giving so much support during the time of compiling this whakapapa, and certainly the joint efforts of everyone who is my whanau

The Reunion is close, and we are all waiting to meet so many whanau both here and overseas.

No Reira.
Kia Kaha, Kia Toa, Kia Manawanui.
