Jessie Smiths maiden name on the marriage certificate,is Foster,When she married Henry ( Harry ),But we know that she was fostered out by MINNIE DEANE,of the baby farm at Wilton,Southland,new Zealand.We know that she was one of the two young girls that witnessed,against MINNIE DEANE's.So we are of the understanding that she didn't know her real maiden name,as she was given by her mother more or less straight after the birth,We alos know that her mother was a redhead,if that is anything to go by.

I am looking for JEESIE'S surname (wife HENRY( HARRY )SMITH ).Jessie was put in the "LARCHES" (Home of MINNIE DEAN - so called foster home )and her maiden name " FOSTER ",Thus was adapted as her maiden name.Are there any records as such, that pertain to who she really is as I have came to a loggerhead with every search that i have done of her.Jessie died at her daughter "DORIS'S home in Cambridge,North Island New Zealand quite a few years ago.The main reason that I want to know this,is that she was my ( ALISTER JAMES SMITH'S ) grandmother.Any knowledge about her would be much appreciated.I can bw contacted via e-mail on : zakchris@clear.net.nz.
