Information; Bits & Pieces
A family history book wouldn't be complete without all of the little things that I was able to gather from my mother's cousin, still living in her late 80s.
She sent me a detailed history that she had been writing over the years, telling of how when she and her siblings used to help in the making of soap and candles. She went into great detail on this and various ways they styled their hair. She explained in such great detail, the inside of their little one-room schoolhouse that I was able to get a vivid picture in my mind.
The things that we take for granted that we do today, will seem domestically foriegn to our future generations. I cannot stress enough "if you are going to keep a record for your descendants get those little details in there". Don't forget all of those little things we did as kids when there weren't video games, computers and cell phones. How many kids today play jump rope and how many of those that do, know those old jump rope rhymes?
