Descendants of Sigismund RENTZSCH (1776-1843)

Sigismund Rentzsch was a German clockmaker who settled in London in 1811 and became quite well known. He had two wives, Dorothea Meyer (who came to England with him) and Mary Ransome (1796-1874). He had 16 children. His daughter, Rosina Esther (1835-1909), married Edward Pilkington Homan of Edenderry, Offaly, Ireland and they were my great grandparents: their daughter, Charlotte, married Thomas Potterton of Carbury, Kildare. Mary Walker, nee Rentzsch (b.1934) is descended from the first marriage and has some of Sigismund's letters. Among the other descendants of Sigismund Rentzsch are the names: Allibert, Baverstock, Berliet, and Proton. My website is www.potterton.ie

Potterton Ireland

I have researched the Potterton family in Ireland, c.1660-1960, and have published my researches in a book, 'Potterton People and Places: three centuries of an Irish family'. See my website for details: www.potterton.ie
Some family members have, however, eluded me. Henry (b. 1874) and John (b.1876) who went to America (Boston area) about 1896. Alexander Potterton arrived in Adelaide, Australia in 1838, is recorded in Thames, New Zealand in 1881 and is supposed to have married a woman from Mauritius called Madeleine Selene Tournelle. Any information on these or othet Irish Pottertons would be most welcome.
