jacob THRESS came to Pomeroy, Ohio with brothers. some of the family went on to the Zanesville, Ohio area and this is the family from which I come. Jacob THRESS, my gr-gr grandfather and son of the older Jacob, was the Sheriff of Zanesville, Ohio about 1900 and was called to a drowning at the river and it was his son, he was also asked to be a 'dirty cop' and that is when he resigned and became a baker at the Biscuit company in town.
