Uriel E. Babcock was my Great Great Grandfather, he was born Feb 17th 1835 where he was born is not certain, but was told he came from Ohio, possibly Concord area before moving to Sheridan, Michigan. There he married Jane Lamont May 20th 1858. Uriel & Jane had 9 children. Alice, Nora ( AKA Laura )Semona, Elsworth, Arthur, Lewis, Ellen, Ida Mae, and Lamont Babcock.

I have some information on his children, and quite a bit more on Jane's Lamont side, but have not been able to find out who Uriel's parents were. According to a few census I have seen, Uriel had a brother Silas/Elias, a brother Samuel, a siter Philecta, and another sister Francisco, ( Francisca?)

Clayton Link was born July 25 1880 in Branch, MI.
His parents were Richard W. Link & Mary Ann Springer.
Clayton married Jennie P. Babcock Sept. 9 1922.
Clayton died at the age of 44 in Great Falls, Montana
on March 15 1925 from asphyxiation by illuminating gas
in a lodging house. Clayton's body was sent back to South
Bend, Indiana, and services were held at the Babcock home
at 1112 West Washington, South Bend, IN. and his body was
layed to rest at Riverview cemetery off of Portage Ave.
South Bend IN.

April 27 1923 Mrs. Jane Anne Babcock Burgett 32 yrs old died at
the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Babcock ( 1112 West Washington Ave., South Bend Indiana ) she was pronounced dead at
3:55 P.M. after a five month illness from heart trouble. She was
born in Calhoun MI June 30 1890, and had been a resident of South
Bend for the last 13 years. She was survived by 1 daughter Irene Burgett.

There was no mention of her husband, so I am trying to find out
who Mr. Burgett was, and wondering what ever happened to Irene, her
daughter. If anyone has any information on who Mr. Burgett may have
been, or know of Irene who was about 13 years old when her mother died, please contact me.

I am searching for more information on Joseph D Lozier.
He was born abt 1872 in Pennsylvania, married to Mary M.
Denton from Elkart Indiana. They showed up on a 1920 Census
in South Bend Indiana, making him about 48 years old at that
time, and Mary 47. No children were listed. It stated his
father was born in France, no information on his mother was
mentioned.
On a death index in CA. it stated he died May 5 1957 in Los Angeles
There his birth date was listed as April 30 1871. His mother's
maiden name was listed as Liningfeather.

I have been searching for my great grandmother " Cora Belle Briggs "
parents.
Cora Belle Briggs married Lewis D. Babcock March 14 1889 in Newton Twp. Calhoun MI
Cora Belle was born July 17 1868, or 1869. Not sure where, can't seem to find any information of her place of birth, but was told it was in MI.
I do know her and Lewis moved to South Bend IN. and separated, but not sure when. Cora then moved to Los Angeles CA with her daughter Jennie Pearl, and grandson Walter E. Babcock. Robert U. Babcock was Cora's son, and my grandfather, he stayed here in Indiana. He was born in Calhoun MI June 28 1892 and died Sept 5 1969
