Herren/Heeren/Herron
Hi all .. Here's the facts.. Ann)a) Eliza Pigg married James Henry Heeren from Hanover by court order in Whiteside County Illionis on 4/26/1865 due to her 'being in a family way'. Ann(s)'s father George Washongton Pigg was in the Army at the time. The first child I can find for them is William born 1867, which means there was a child before him ( died?) or she was a really good story teller. A second child, JOhn H Heeren was born in 1872. Both boys were born in Wisconsin. James and Ann(a) moved to Iowa with out the bosy and had daughter, Cordelia born 1882. Mind you the boys would be about 15 and 10, so what happened to theM and why were they left and who with? John appers to have shown up in Iowa and married Catherine Byrne ( daughter of Thomas). James Henry died about or just prior to 1895. Ann(a) and Cordelia moved to Charels Mix COunty South Dakota where Anna married Joesph Ellis as his 2nd wife in 1895. Cordelia married William Josph Byrne ( son of Simon) in 1896 at the age of 14. John the son) also was located in SOuth Dakota, but was arrested and died in jail in 1916. THe questions: what happened to the 1st child, why were the boys left in Wisconsin, what happened to William, and when and where die James Henry HEeren die? ANy help is appreciated.. Thank you

BICE of KY, IA, and California
Hi,
I am tracking the William Cornelius Bice family from Mercer County Kentucky ( and Pennsylvania before that) Mr Bice and family and about 150 others set out from Kentucky and wandered through Indiana ( Jefferson County) where one daughter married and stayed and added to the Bear (Bair,Behr) family. THey continued on through Sacramento where a child (Edmund) was born and died) and settled in Healdsburg. Cornelius had marred Mary Jane Koger (from Virginia) They had 10 children and ran a large farm/orchard in Sonoma County. Mr Bice died in 1879. My great grandmother was Mary Florence Bice who became a Methodist missionary in Japan, where she met her husband, William Albert Davis. I would love to hear from other Bice relatives.

McIntee, McEntee
This one I am finding difficult. My Grandmother was Kathryn Frances McIntee ( or McEntee) depending on where you look( Dad's birth cert says McIntee, census says her mom was McEntee, Social Security shows McIntyre. She was born about 1896 or so and had a sister who I believe was Elizabeth. They were raised on the Boston area of Massachusettes. Their parents were from Scotland. Kathryn married Kennteh Francis Holbrook. They resided in South Weymouth and had 2 sons, Leonard and Kenneth, both of who had families. I have discovered that no matter what the spelling, she would have belonged to the McKenzie Clan. I know that Elizabeth married a Mr Farrington ( posssibly Edward) and lived in Southern California in the 60's. Any news or family welcome.

Anna Eliza Pigg
does anyone know of Anna Eliza Pigg? (Daughter of George Washington Pigg). She was born in 1848 and died 1919. The family story says she HAD to get married and since dad was away at war a local judge granted a dispensation so she could do so. She married James H Herren ( with and e not an O). This does not sit well with the facts that I have found, as the only child we know about was born in june 1883. It may be possible that that was a 1st marriage that we don't have any history on. I can find her in the 1850,and 1860 census, but lose her until 1900 where she shows upo un South Dakota. Mr Herren is said to have died in 1896, and she remarried in 1896 to Joe Ellis. Her daulghter was Cordelia Herren Byrne, who married William Joseph Byrne at the age of 14. Any new bits and pieces welcome.

Simon Byrne
Hi all,
MY Great great grandfather was Simon Byrne, who was born in Ireland in 1820. He most likely left Ireland with his family when he was 13 ( 1833) and went to Canada, then from there in 1850 came to the US. ( on census says he immigrated 1830, one in 1850. Somewhere in his travels he met and married Bridget Ryan. They were in Illinois for a bit, where a daughter Mary was born in 1850. They finally set down roots inDubue Iowa and raised the family (Mary, James E, Thomas, William Joseph, Catherine, Michael and Esther) Bridget seems to have died about 1883- 1884, and Simon starts showing up in SOuth Dakota late 1880's up through 1917 when he died, (apparently fell into a snow bank and froze to death)> THis is not Simon Byrne the boxer, which seems to be the only Simon I can find. IF this is familiar to anyone, I would love to hear from you.
