numbering system for my family history

I would like some feedback as to what is a good numbering system for my family tree. There is a number of them I could choose, but I'm running into a problem.
The problem is, I'm doing a history on the descendants of John & Dorothy (Noyes)Haynes, and I'm decended from 2 lines of those same ancestors. From one of their daughters, the line descends down to my paternal grandmother, my father and then of course to me. One of their sons lines, descends down to my paternal grandfather, and so on. So, the question is this...what is the best way to number this book. from my father and his brothers on down the line, everyone would be listed twice. How do I avoid this?
Or can it be avoided? Help...:(
Thankyou

Hello,
I'm looking for information to find more of my Gill ancestors. My 5th great grandfather is Silas Gill, he was born,1759 poss. in Concord, MA and died 4 Oct 1804 in Concord. His wife was Sarah (?)Gill b. 17 Jun 1754 in Salisbury, MA and died 24 Feb 1804 in Hingham, MA. I have no maiden name for Sarah, and no information on either of their parentage.

They had 6 children

ii. Otis 1786-
iii. Sarah "Sally" 1790-1867 (my 4th g grandmother)
iv. Hannah 1792-

That's all I have on them...if anyone can find the parents of Silas Sr., and his wife (plus her maiden name) that would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for family of 3rd Great grandmother Mary (MCGREGOR) HAYNES

I'm looking for information about my 3rd great grandmother, Mary (McGREGOR)HAYNES.
I have no information for her other than who she was married to. John Haynes, and the fact that they were married in 1819.
They were married in Nova Scotia, Canada, most likely in Annapolis County.

If this helps, John was born 3 Jul 1796 in Nova Scotia & died 20 Aug 1879. they had 3 children, Daniel (my 2nd g grandfather) John & Joseph.
If anyone knows about Mary or her family, I would surely love to hear from you. And I'm also willing to share what I have as well.
