parkar on Family Tree Circles

I can trace my ancestors back to James Franklin PARKS, but don't have very much on him so I can go back further.

Edna PARKS>Hobert PARKS> Joseph Franklin PARKS>James Franklin PARKS.
Family history says we came from Ireland. Also says that Joseph Franklin was born in Rose Hill, Va. (in 1874,abt.).

I can find James Franklin and family in Fincastle, Tennessee and the 1890 Civil War census gives info on his regiment in the war but no such unit exsists, that I can find. So I am stuck there.
