We have hit a brick wall regarding the above. He is my Great Grandfather, and his birth certificate cannot be found. We think he was born in 1804, as on his death certificate 1880, states that he was 76 years old. He married in 1851 his wife Caroline Rogers.We have the certificate, and the name of his father as present at the wedding. He is John Bernard Sale. We have enough info about this man and his parentage.
Our great grandfather was an actor, photographer, lecturer, and used John Wade Clinton as his stage name. His family were known as Clinton. He had 2 daughters and two sons. The daughters were known also by their stage names. Marie Linden, and Laura Linden, Real names Sophie and Agnes Clinton. The bows were Alfred/Arthur, and Thomas. Alfred was my grandfather, also a part time actor. He married Emily Winterbottom in 1901, and they had 2 daughters and 6 sons, one of whom was my father.
