Hi Storey, My great grandmother was Alice Elizabeth Hammarsten and great grandfather was George W. Feldick. Together they had 11 children, my grandfather was Bernard. Here is the obituary for George: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2278&dat=19770526&id=pnllAAAAIBAJ&sjid=R5QNAAAAIBAJ&pg=2742,5234227. My grandfather never spoke of his family, and at a young age my grandfather cut ties with the family, and then after 2 divorces and 3 children (Darrin, David, and Donald), he relocated to New Mexico where years later he passed away. What I do know is that there is a long history of alcohol and drug abuse. Unfortunately, I do not know anything else.

I have been trying to figure out for years their nationality, so if you have any information I would be very grateful : )

Sorry correction to my post. There were 12 siblings and it is Daryl not "Darrin".

hi rena127 I adopped my son Presley when he was 9 years old. his mother was a feldick she was a daughter of George Washington Feldick and Alice Elizabeth Hammarsten. Yes there was a drug and alcohol problem in there family. My son and his brother have escaped that problem. I have been able to learm about them. I have a little more then I can write here but not enough to write a book. The feldick family came from Germany in the 1880. I an sorry to take so long in getting back to you. I have a health problem that has been a great worry to me. Some of the feldick family had there problens but they also have a lot of good people in there family. People who are well educated and live good lives. When I work on trying to find out about them I look for good things to write because some day when my son or his children if he has then reads what I leave behind I want them to fell good about his mothers family. so he fells good about himself and were he came from. I live in grove city, Ohio 4408 casa blv. If you would be so kind to send me your address I will send you want I have on them. I also have some on the Hammarsten family I will send that to. sincerely john storey

Hi Storey,

Sorry it took so long to respond. After looking at your information, your son was my late fathers cousin. My father recently passed away November 2013 unexpectedly from a alcohol/medication overdose. So again, I stand by my word when I said this family has a long history of alcohol and drug abuse. That said, I do think this is an important piece of history as alcoholism has been linked to hereditary traits and something to be aware of. Noggin, thank you so much for all this valuable information!
