I agree with asheppard about the death.

Jessie remarried in 1925 to John PLUNKET.
Ref: Registry of Marriages, Victoria. Reg #13163.

We should find Jessie buried in the Melbourne area and not East Gippsland.

``I expect this will be Jessie's birth.``
Thank you for the quick responses from my enquiry, Im amazed
So Jessie Baker`s Birth date and wedding date to Grandpa William
is confirmed, I was unaware that al three children were all born in Warrnambool Thanks. But Jessie`s death was announced on the same night after one of their grand daughters was born ... ``go figure `` ! she was born in Sale 17th of January 1951 Gippsland, this info is word of mouth only so who knows really !

I cant quite agree with Jessie Baker Field remarriage to John Plunket, just yet,but there are Plunkets in the family, I`ll need to keep digging
Thanks again Historians ... Linda

Keep digging Linda.
The deeper you dig the more you find.

There is no death recorded for Jessie FIELD nee BAKER in the Victorian death records, including the year 1951. This must tell you something is not right.

You may not agree with Jessie's second marriage to John PLUNKET in 1925, but you need to go outside the circle and look at the death of Jessie PLUNKET in 1951. She is the correct age, and the parents names are correct accept for her father being named as James BAKER and not John BAKER. Possible informant error I expect.

There is one sure way to confirm if the Jessie FIELD married to John PLUNKET in 1925 is the same Jessie would be to obtain the marriage certificate. It should give Jessie's age, birth place, parents names, status, and should also tell you how many children she had.

You could also obtain Jessie's death certificate once your happy it's the same Jessie. This will confirm where she is buried.

I have done a few cemetery searches but no luck to date.
Newspaper searches for the death and funeral notices may be quicker.

My grandmother, Jessie (nee Baker)(I believe her birthdate was 17th or 18th July 1889) married William Minifie Field on 24th June 1912. They had three children, Joyce (born 28th October 1912), William John(born 1st November 1913 ) my father and Charles Minifie ( born 31st March 1915). Whilst I am unaware of both Aunty Joyce and Uncle Charlie's birthplaces, my father William was born in Warracknabeal. William Minifie Field was killed in action 9th August 1918 and is buried in Harbonnieres France. Jessie remarried in 1925 to John Plunket. As far as I know, she is buried with him somewhere in Melbourne after dying on 17th January 1951 ( the day I was born.). My father also told me that his mother and John Plunket lived in Ringwood so perhaps they are buried near there or in Fawkner cemetery. I would be most interested to discover her place of burial.
