Journal by mawsome

I lived in Castlemaine at the approx time 1946 at Milkmaids flat. At that time there were only two houses that I remember we lived in one and my Uncle Mannie I think and his wife lived in the other. He used to tend a very rough golf course.I was about approx 5 years old at the time and I used to accompany him sometimes in doing this.My father worked at the foundry and being a keen Footballer for Maldon erected goal posts out of gum saplings and some local kids used to come and play football.I remember my mother walking my brother in a wicker pram and my self to the local store which seemed a fair hike.Have tried to locate where this could have been there is an old building on the corner of main road and Parker st would be grateful for any one having memories of this I turned 78 last year so its a fair time ago Think my uncles surname could have been Baxter or Mather.I grew up in Maldon and later attended St Marys school in Castlemaine and the convent Would love to hear any memories from this time
