First of all you start from your self, then work to your grandparents, greatgrandparents, etc. this way you stay connected to the right family.Look and see what information you have already, ask relatives, and then look for the records, ie. birth certificates, marriages, and deaths, etc.

There are computer sites that can help you with your search. Ancestry, Rootsweb, familysearch and familytreecircles,etc.

If you are asking for help on the Lynch family then I suggest telling more about your Lynch family. There are alot of people with the same last name, and giving more information will help someone know more about your family.
