Hello - Well I am going to put down here a few things after researching over 5,000 " Sloans " on deaths , marriages , Births from about 20 Different websites- you might think I have gone nuts - don't -Why ? cause I can't prove any part of it . Ok Here we go . have a think about it all -
(a ) I couldn't find a Sloan with John Jasper in the given names
(b ) " " " a Jasper " "
(c ) I went for John Sloan 1830 NC united states - 1880 census
( d ) re census 1880 It had his father Birth place - North Carolina
" " " mother " " - Kentucky
The area of census was - wait for it - Jasper - Ozark -Missouri - My mind - tick tick tick - could this be a family making a mistake in the records or ???? -
( e ) I then took a guess at his fathers & mothers Birth dates -
Over the years my average taken from all records averages ( 22 )
years for marriages - I applied the magical formula - ( pushed thee cat off blocking the screen . It was her usual walkee Time )
( f ) 1830 - 22 = 1808 - ( bear with me !! ) I said to myself - marriage -?? -1yr before 1830 and back to 1800 minus birth date = 1778
--> + / - 10years ( clever A!! )and we have a range to load the gun and go for a real hunt on a " Sloan "
( g ) 5,000 sloan's later he is the result - I have three possibles and can't prove any of them -->
- William Sloan -b-1774-NC-m-June Stevenson - 1800 - NC- b- 1775 -NC

- William Sloan -b-1786- NC -m-Mary Polly Burton-1810-NC-b-1790 -NC

-William Sloan -b-1789-NC-m-Sarah Goforth-1809 - 1790 NC

-William Sloan-b-1804-NC -m-Zilpha McFail-1827-NC- b-South Carolina

Why " William Sloan ",that was all that showed around those dates'
I did no good in Kentucky or Missouri . I could not get any proof what so ever on any of it-Like the children - which was only one and a girl I do think originally they came from Ireland in the Early 1700's- came across several lines that had no end pointing that way -Ok I am out of here ( thee cat is now scratching me - Its her daily walk time or else ** -yes I can see it in her eyes DDD-e-a-thhh )- come back to me with a journal or what ever - did me good - shook some of the cob webs out of the old grey matter - Regards
